One of the most common questions we get asked is "What will it cost to build xyz?".
There is plenty of published information out there which may give you an idea of cost to build, but this is usually based on historical information or published cost ranges and the context of the information is usually not known (ie. what is included? where is the project? when was it built? by who?)
In order to ascertain a more accurate cost we need to understand what it is you are building, where it's , the size or area of the development, quality and most importantly market conditions. It is even better if you have architectural concept drawings from which we can base a budget estimate on and provide you with more accurate building estimates. .
We are expert cost estimators and quantity surveyors operating out of both Sydney CBD & the Hills District. We are able to service projects all over Australia. If you require more detailed information about our company & other services, please return to our homepage.
Simply, building estimates are one-off reports which prices a project at a particular point in time based on all documents available at that time. The more developed the design is, the more detailed and accurate the building estimate is. The estimate may be conceptual, preliminary, DA (early in the process) or detailed (advanced architectural, structural, landscaping, services design) or pre-tender -before approaching a builder for a tender or quote).
A cost plan is a process whereby a project's cost to build is priced early (the earlier the better) and is continually updated at milestone stages as the design progresses. It may involve providing cost options or suggest ways to reduce cost to assist is meeting owner and design team meet design and budget objectives. It provide more cost certainty throughout a project's design process.
Owners, architects or builders will generally require realistic project budgets to calculate feasibility of a project or development, sometimes before a design team is engaged. We can assist by providing cost to build building estimates & cost planning services to establish realistic budgets to suit your project requirements.
As highly skilled cost planners & estimators we can prepare costs plans and building estimates at all levels of design.
Ideally, the cost planning process should begin at project inception and continue through all the design milestones to ensure that budgets are maintained. Value engineering and design option analysis may be undertaken to meet project budget, user or owner objectives.
The cost plan needs to ensure that risks are appropriately managed including provisional sums and allowance adjustments.
If required we can also produce "one-off" estimates such as budget checks. pre-tender estimates, cost estimates for Council & Bank requirements and detailed cost to build estimates.
